ANC 3/4G Community Update: Civic Core, Neighborhood Projects & Fall Service Updates —October 25,2026

Hi Neighbors,

Fall is in full swing, and here are some updates for Sunday, October 25, 2026!

ANC 3/4G Meeting — Monday, October 26

Our next ANC meeting will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. You can register and view the agenda here: Meeting Registration and Agenda.

Chevy Chase Civic Core

The Chevy Chase Civic Core redevelopment remains an important issue for our community. Below are links to DC Council information and public hearings concerning the proposed disposition of the site:

ANC Resolution on the Monumental Arch at Memorial Circle

ANC 3/4G SMD 05 resident John Ayers has requested that the ANC discuss and potentially vote on a resolution opposing the proposed monumental arch at Memorial Circle in Washington, DC.

HAWK Signal at Connecticut Avenue NW and Legation Street NW

The HAWK signal at Connecticut Avenue NW and Legation Street NW is now tentatively expected to become operational by the end of November due to contractual delays with Pepco. DDOT has completed the infrastructure, but Pepco must install the electrical service before the signal can be activated. I know many residents are eager for the signal to be operational, and I hope it will be up and running before the new year.

DC PLUG Feeder 467: Final Road Restoration

Residents along Livingston, Nevada, Northampton, McKinley, and Legation Streets, thank you for your continued patience with the DC PLUG construction. I understand the noise, traffic, and parking disruptions have been frustrating, and I appreciate your patience as crews work to move power lines underground.

Final milling and paving for Feeder 467 is scheduled for October 26–30, 2026, weather permitting, in the following areas:

  • Livingston Street NW: 3600–3700 blocks, between Nevada Avenue and Connecticut Avenue.

  • Nevada Avenue NW: 5500–5700 blocks, between McKinley Street and Oliver Street.

  • Northampton Street NW: 3400–3500 blocks, between Nevada Avenue and Broad Branch Road.

  • Oliver Street NW: 3400–3500 blocks, between Nevada Avenue and Broad Branch Road.

Work hours are 7 a.m.–7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Detours and temporary parking restrictions will be in effect; please follow posted “No Parking” signs.

For updates, visit the Feeder 467 project map or the interactive construction map to check work near your address.

DC Water and DC Fire and EMS: Fire Sprinkler Safety

DC Water and DC Fire and EMS are partnering for Fire Prevention Month to promote fire sprinkler safety and update the District’s fire sprinkler system records.

Over the coming weeks, residents and property owners may receive calls or mail from DC Water or see staff in the neighborhood asking them to confirm whether their property has a fire sprinkler system, verify that it is operational by checking its water pressure, and report the information at www.firesprinkler.dcwater.com

Your participation helps support emergency response efforts and maintain accurate records. Thank you for helping keep our community safe!

Department of Public Works: Leaf Collection Begins November 2

DC’s leaf collection season begins Monday, November 2, 2026, and continues through February 2027 for DPW-serviced households.

Residents in Section A: The first collection pass begins November 2. Please rake your leaves to the tree box or curbside by Sunday, November 1.

Schedule updates are posted every Friday by 5 p.m., and all sections will receive two weekends’ notice before residents need to rake their leaves out.
