Mid-Week Community Updates and Upcoming Events
Hi Neighbors,
Here’s a quick mid-week update with some upcoming events.
I’m in search of a high school student or resident willing to assist an elderly neighbor with lawn care. This person would need to have their own tools to care for the lawn. Please let me know if you have any recommendations.
DC Department of Transportation
As part of Mayor Muriel Bowser’s Pave DC initiative, DDOT will begin milling and paving work on McKinley St NW between Broad Branch Rd NW and Nevada Ave NW beginning on or about May 28, 2026. Weather permitting, roadway work typically takes 3–5 days to complete.
Residents are asked to carefully observe posted “Emergency No Parking” (ENP) signs, which will be installed at least 72 hours before work begins. Vehicles left in posted work zones may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense. For updates on DDOT’s paving schedule, visit www.ddot.dc.gov/pavedc or call (202) 671-2700 with questions.
