October Community Updates: ANC Meeting, Road Work, Jobs & Local Events

Hi Neighbors,

I hope you’re doing well. It turns out my last newsletter from September 13th was stuck in drafts and never sent. If you’re interested in seeing the old news, you can view it on my website here: Community Updates: Meetings, DC Water Work, Events & More — Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for 3/4G SMD 05

Furloughed workers impacted by the shutdown can file for unemployment insurance benefits through the Department of Employment Services (DOES). Initial claims can be filed online at dcnetworks.org. Visit does.dc.gov for more information.

This week, DC launched TalentCapital.ai, a new regional initiative to connect residents, especially recently displaced workers, with opportunities that keep you in DC. Through the program, they’re offering personalized career coaching and training in fields like AI, data science, and project management. DC residents who are looking for your next career move are encouraged to explore the site and see what it offers
